Oh my.
Oklahoma continues the lead the race to being the most ridiculous and unnecessary state of politics. It seems there is a movement in the political sphere of Oklahoma that not one day can go by without an Oklahoma Politician (or Legislative body) doing something to warrant the shock of the sane part of America.
Big news on the conspiracy theory front: On Wednesday, an Oklahoma House committee approved a bill requiring presidential candidates to present a valid, long-form birth certificate before their names can appear on the ballot in the Sooner State. More than a dozen states have considered “birther” bills since the beginning of 2009, but yesterday’s vote puts Oklahoma on track to become the first state to actually enact such a law. The vote means the bill, which has already passed the state Senate, just needs to be approved by the full House before it can go to Republican Governor Mary Fallin’s desk.
However, it should be said that the bill’s sponsor Sen. Ralph Shortey does not consider this a birther bill:
“A lot of people are classifying this as a birther bill which I don’t think it is,” Shortey said. “The concern has stemmed from the questions that have arisen from President Obama.”
How the hell that is not a birther bill is beyond me! Also, Shortey misses a major fact in state constitutions. The bill calls for presentation of a “long-form” birth certificate, but as this article states:
President Obama’s certificate of live birth would be insufficient—even though not all states provide long-form birth certificates.
However, that does not matter, logic is a self-righteous tool of the socialists!
Hopes were raised on an important shift in immigration policy for married bi-national gay couples, but it seems that it was just another “miscommunication” on the part of the Obama administration.
One night President Obama and his wife Michelle decided to do something out of routine and go for a casual dinner at a restaurant that wasn’t too luxurious. When they were seated, the owner of the restaurant asked the President’s Secret Service if he could please speak to the First Lady in private. They obliged and Michelle had a conversation with the owner. Following this conversation President Obama asked Michelle, “Why was he so interested in talking to you?” She mentioned that in her teenage years, he had been madly in love with her. President Obama then said, “So if you had married him, you would now be the owner of this lovely restaurant,” to which Michelle responded, “No. If I had married him, he would now be the President.”
